ADOPT A NOTARY SCHEME

Owing to the dire need to preserve its outstanding paper heritage, the NAF has embarked on an Adoption Scheme which encourages institutions, companies and individuals to either adopt a notary’s collection of deeds, which may consist of several volumes; adopt a single volume, which may be of particular historical significance; or adopt a single historic document by way of offering sponsorship for their conservation and future preservation.

Donations start from a minimum of €250 and sponsorships of €6,000 and over may be spread over a number of years, thus allowing the sponsor to donate only part of the total sum committed on an annual basis. Sponsors may also choose to pool their donation with other persons or institutions. Estimates for conservation treatment depend on the targeted budget of the sponsor and based on this, a project proposal will be presented. Adoptions of €500 and over require a deposit of 25% of the donation to be made on confirmation of acceptance of the proposed conservation project.

The Notarial Archives Foundation is proudly launching its ‘Reference Library’ project. The NAF hopes to fill the shelves of its Reference Library at the new reading room at the Notarial Registers Archives by enlisting the help of the general public. Books relating to Maltese and global history, art history, conservation and museum and archival studies are especially sought after.

In order to commemorate your donation an ex libris will be placed inside the donated book. You may also choose to donate the book as a gift for someone or in memory of a beloved.
